Friends and family gathered on the beautiful Osea Island to celebrate a 40th birthday party. Breakfast hampers full of pastries, granola, sausages, eggs, fresh orange juice and ground coffee were placed in each cottage before guests arrived to set them up for the weekend celebrations ahead.

Late afternoon on the first day, guests headed to the Captain’s House to enjoy a bountiful BBQ of sirloin steak, chilli butter prawns and lime and coriander chicken, alongside beautiful fresh salads and Mediterranean vegetables. Changeable weather provided the most spectacular sunset and guests stayed up until the early hours enjoying the break in the weather. The next day the sun came out and guests gathered at the Manor House for a Balearic style lunch. A huge seafood paella was cooked in front of guests whilst chilled gazpacho and pan con tomate were available from the rustic Spanish style food bar for starters whilst a DJ played a beach club style set.

That evening saw guests enjoy seasonal canapés and cocktails in the secret garden before walking to the Bomb Factory for a celebratory four-course birthday meal. A starter of burrata and peaches was followed by wild mushroom tortellini, sea bass and caponata and a basil and lime tart – plenty of fuel to help party the night away. Sunday morning at the Clubhouse, hangovers were nursed by Bloody Marys and a full ‘Spanglish’ cooked in the paella pans from the day before. DIY toast and bagels were offered with smoked salmon, cheese and charcuterie, fresh fruit, yoghurt and granola. Guests departed en masse by boat with weary heads full of fantastic memories.
